This piece depicts my recollection of a car accident that happened when I was four-years-old, grounded in the conversation I had with my mother many years later about it. I wrote it during a creative writing seminar I took during my undergraduate years at Cornell University.
This piece reflects a mental rabbit hole I fell down after making a stupid comment without thinking. I wrote it for a writing seminar I took during my sophomore year called Memoir and Memory. The assignment was to write our own memoir piece in the style used by Nick Flynn in his memoir Another Bullshit Night in Suck City.
